The treasure chest of the Rhenish house friend is a collection of stories and calendar stories that Johann Peter Hebel put together and published in Tübingen near Cotta in 1811.

The collection includes anecdotes, short stories and tales that Hebel published in the Baden Country Calendar between 1803 and 1806 and in its successor, the Rhineland House Friend , from 1807 to 1811 . One example is the short story The Cunning Hussar .
