The Šiauliai playhouse ( lit.Valstybinis Šiaulių dramos teatras ) is a playhouse in the Lithuanian city ​​of Šiauliai . It was established in August 1931 as a department of the State Theater Kaunas (Kauno Valstybės teatras) built with the play Prinxessin Turandot by Carlo Gozzi opened. The first director was Borisas Dauguvietis . In December 1941, the theater became the municipal theater (Šiaulių miesto teatras) of the municipality of Šiauliai . 83 employees work in the theater (as of 2018).
