The Scheckenhoferhaus (2012)

The Scheckenhoferhaus has been a listed residential building (file number D-1-75-132-12) in the Upper Bavarian municipality of Vaterstetten since 2011 . It is located at Dorfstrasse 1. It is privately owned.

The building from 1906 is a single-storey gable roof construction with a dwelling and a balcony with a wrought iron railing. It was built as a weekend house in the then still small Vaterstetten and has a living space of 95 square meters. During the renovation, which was carried out until 2018, the roof had to be completely rebuilt, as did the fir wood planks on the ground floor. The reconditioned floor boards on the upper floor served as a model for the new floorboards. The doors with brass fittings and all windows (except on the upper floor) still exist in the original. Historical methods were also used when painting the walls, so that they have the strong image of the original painting. A bathroom and heating with connection to the district heating network were added to the house.
