The Shevchenko Encyclopedia ( Ukrainian Шевченківська енциклопедія Schewtschenkiwska enzyklopedija ) is a six-volume Ukrainian-language reference book is the work of time, the environment and the reception of the work of the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko dedicated.

After a two-volume Taras Shevchenko dictionary was published for the 150th anniversary in 1975/1977, the Taras Shevchenko Literature Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine prepared an extensive reference work on the occasion of the 200th birthday of the Ukrainian national poet. The result is an extensive 6-volume richly illustrated encyclopedia with over 6300 articles on 5360 pages, on which all the leading literary scholars in Ukraine contributed. It was published by Mykola Shulynskyj after almost 20 years of preparation from 2012 to 2015 in an edition of 2000 copies. Color images show works and pictorial and plastic representations of Shevchenko. The two final volumes received two Ukrainian literary awards in 2016. The reference work can be found online - also because of the small number of copies.

Another parallel encyclopedic literature project of the Academy of Sciences is the encyclopedia on Iwan Franko , the 7-volume Iwan-Franko encyclopedia , which will appear from 2016 .
