Ship Officer Training Ordinance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ship's officer training Regulation (SchOffzAusbV) was a regulation on the training and qualifications of captains and ship officers of nautical and technical ship service. It was repealed on June 1, 2014 by Section 66 of the Seafarers' Capability Ordinance and replaced by this provision.

It contained information about the knowledge and skills that applicants for a certificate of competency for nautical officers and masters had to convey, which, in connection with their practical training and seafaring time, enable them to initially perform the duties of a nautical officer on watch on all ships.

In addition, they had to be taught the knowledge and skills that would enable them, after completing the prescribed seafaring experience, to perform the duties of first officer on all ships or to lead ships of all types and sizes as captains in all trades.
