Ship divers (also helmet divers ) are naval working divers .

Ship divers have a minimum commitment period of four years. There are currently around 30 helmet divers in the German Navy . After the course, ship divers are used for various types of work under water at up to 61 meters to carry out difficult work such as repair work on ships and the recovery of people. Ship divers must have at least 100 diving hours as a ship diver per year in order to continue working as a ship diver.

The equipment of the helmet divers weighs about 90 kg.

education

The ship diver course lasts eight weeks and costs around 27,000 euros. Once a year, a 12-week ship diving course takes place based on this.
