Key zone massage

The key zone massage (or manual therapy according to Dr. Marnitz or Marnitz therapy) is a treatment method of physical therapy and physiotherapy . It was made by Dr. Harry Marnitz developed as a holistic treatment concept.

The areas of the human body that are connected to each other via reflex arcs are understood as key zones . This neural connection can make symptoms of an illness or injury “visible” in the corresponding opposite zone (e.g. through reddening or pain). In order to have the greatest possible effect on the patient, Marnitz has a deep tissue massage that targets z. B. muscles or ligaments is applied, combined with manual therapeutic measures. This achieves a direct, i.e. in the area of massage , and a reflective effect.

The main indications for therapy according to Dr. Marnitz are immobilizations and pain in chronic and acute diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Since the massage is only applied very specifically and not over a large area, patients with edema can also be treated.
