The Schlüter bread factory (later also called Schlüterbrot-Bärenbrot bread factory ) is located in the Schöneberg district of Berlin in the Eresburgstraße / Alboinstraße / Magirusstraße block. The building is a historical monument.

history

The Schlüterbrotfabrik company was founded in 1913. In 1927/28, the bread factory was built as a large-scale bakery based on designs by the Berlin architect Bruno Buch . The Schlüter bread factory merged with Bärenbrot in the 1950s. The Schlüter bread and bread bear GmbH & Co. KG filed for 1993 Comparison and was operated on in the same year as Schlüter Brot GmbH. Production was stopped on June 30, 2002.

In 2009, the Berlin project developer psg property service group acquired the 19,000 m² property from BAG Bankaktiengesellschaft in Hamm. The new owner is renovating the bakery factory from November 2009 in accordance with a listed building and completing it with a new building. A total of 11 million euros flowed into the project. The work was finished in April 2011. Today the building is used as an office and commercial building.

architecture

The distinctive facade made of red-violet Ullersdorf bricks is accentuated by protruding vertical clinker strips. The area around Alboinstraße is one of the industrial complexes of the Wilhelminian era and early modernism that still characterize some of Berlin's districts today.
