Battle of Grotniki

The Battle of Grotniki took place on May 4, 1439 near the village of Grotniki near Nowy Korczyn in today's Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship . The Confederate Polish Hussites, led by Spytko von Mahlstein , were defeated by the Polish royal army, led by Bishop Zbigniew Oleśnicki of Kraków . The outcome of the battle ultimately led to the downfall of the Hussite movement in Poland.
