In the Battle of Wischau on November 25, 1805, Russian troops defeated a French army near the town of Vyškov . The battle followed the battle of Hollabrunn and Schöngräbern , which took place on November 16, 1805, and preceded the battle of Austerlitz , which took place on December 2, 1805. The Russian victory, achieved without great difficulty, convinced the participants of the Third Coalition that the French army, which had suffered several heavy losses in the previous weeks and was suffering from supplies, could easily be defeated.
