Battle of Germantown

The battle of Germantown was a combat operation in the American Revolutionary War and took place on October 4, 1777 between the Continental Army under George Washington and the British-Hessian troops under William Howe in Germantown . The British army with 8,000 men triumphed over the 11,000 soldiers of George Washington.

In that battle, the British lost 71 of their soldiers to death, 450 were wounded and 14 went missing. In the Continental Army, 152 soldiers died, 521 were wounded and 400 were taken prisoners of war .
