Anti Cimex was a Swedish hardcore punk band that was one of the founders of the Scandinavian D-beat . Their second 7 ″ single Raped Ass is considered genre-defining.

Band history

Anti Cimex was founded in 1981 in Gothenburg, Sweden by singer Nille, bassist Jonsson, guitarist Jocke and drummer Charlie. The name comes from a Swedish exterminator company that bears this name. Cimex is the Latin generic name for bed bugs . After a few rehearsals, the first 7 "single Anarkist Attack was released , on which the band performed simple punk rock . The style change took place in 1982. Before that, singer Nille had left the band and bassist Tomas Jonsson took over the vocals. The trio released the EP Raped Ass later in 1982 , which Daniel Ekeroth describes as the roughest and most brutal hardcore ever released and a genre classic. Another EP followed in 1984 ( Victims of a Bomb Raid ) and in 1986 the EP Anti_Cimex . After the guitarist left the band, they broke up in 1986.

In 1990 they managed to win Cliff as a new guitarist. However, the band broke up in 1993 after two more studio albums and a live album. Former members then played in other bands, such as Driller Killer (Cliff) and Wolfbrigade (Jonsson). Several live and compilation albums with the band's music appeared posthumously , including on Svart Records and Back on Black . In 2005 the sampler A Tribute to Anti Cimex was published, on which many crust and D-beat bands were represented, which were influenced by Anti-Cimex, for example Disclose (Japan), Wolfbrigade (Sweden), Ratos de Porão (Brazil ) and Doom (UK)
