Sleeping eyes (vehicle)

The term sleeping eyes is used to describe two different types of headlight designs in the vehicle sector .

Headlamp screens

These accessories are lampshades that are inserted under the chrome trim rings and were first used on the VW Beetle and VW bus . These little umbrellas, similar to the shape of human eyelashes, were supposed to give the car's "face" a cuter look.

Pop-up headlights

Pop-up headlights

Folding headlights are movable headlights that are only folded out and therefore visible when switched on. When switching off, the vehicle closes its "eyes" to "sleep".
