Amount of sleep

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term sleep amount describes a quantitative measure of the daily (night) sleep a person has. It is calculated as the product of the duration and depth of sleep.

The depth of sleep can only be represented with a great deal of equipment. Assuming that it is "normal" and undisturbed for its age, the duration of sleep is also seen as an essential indicator of the amount of sleep.
