Impact crushing

principle

Impact crusher is a kind of crushing of solids . The material lies on a tool surface and is shattered by a blow with a second movable tool. This principle is similar to pressure comminution , but with impact comminution , the rate of stress is significantly higher. The fracture processes are also similar in both processes, but in contrast to pressure crushing, the material is not pinched to the same extent, but can move relatively freely. This leads to cube-shaped fracture results.

The best known size reduction machine ( mill or crusher ) working according to this principle is the grinding media mill in the form of a ball mill . The flat cone crusher also works according to this principle.
