The Schlatter Holding AG is a Swiss public company which at the SIX Swiss Exchange listed is. The company is based in Schlieren and specializes in the construction of resistance welding systems.

history

During the First World War , Hans A. Schlatter founded the company HA Schlatter & Co and brought the welding process of resistance welding from America to Europe. From then on, resistance welding was the core of all Schlatter systems and established this new application in Switzerland. For example, after the Second World War , Schlatter invented a welding system with which reinforcing iron could be automatically welded into grids. Thanks to the construction boom in the post-war period, he managed to establish himself in a niche.

When central heating became standard in the apartments, Schlatter invented a radiator machine with which radiators could be produced in a cheap way.

Schlatter discovered another niche in the market in the welding of railway tracks and founded track welding , which went hand in hand with the commissioning of the new factory in Schlieren.

After the founder's death in 1969, the company went through a difficult phase and the family business fell into a crisis under the third generation . Short- time work even had to be initiated twice .

In 2003 restructuring was initiated and the founder's grandson had to resign as CEO.

After 89 years, the Schlatters sold almost all of their shares to the finance company Zurmont in 2005 and withdrew from the board of directors.

In September 2007 Zurmont Finanz AG sold its majority of 51.6%. The new majority owner today is an industrial consortium consisting of Metall Zug AG and Huwa Finanz und Beteiligungs AG .
