Train was a property that was at the beginning of the 17th century outside the city of Klagenfurt and the Zehentverzeichnis was first mentioned in the parish Tultschnig 1607 as a brewery. Then as now, Steinbier was brewed in the brewery . Märzen, Pils, Doppelmalz and Bockbier as well as other types of beer have only been brewed in a kettle brewery since the beginning of the last century. Since the renovation of the Schleppe brewery in 2000, the company has specialized in the production of beer specialties. The annual output of the Schleppe Brewery, whose location on the northern outskirts of Klagenfurt was retained even after the takeover by Vereinigte Kärntner Brauereien AG, is around 32,000 hl . With around 50 employees, 80% of the Schleppe beer brands are sold in the Klagenfurt area.

Schleppe's main brand is Schleppe Märzen . In addition to Carinthia, sales areas are also the Vienna area and Italy. In addition to other types of beer such as Pils, Bockbier, Zwickl, Dunkel, Doppelbock and special bottlings, such as the Felsenkeller naturally cloudy for the “Felsenkeller” restaurant opposite, brandies and vinegar ( Schleppe Bockbieressig ) are also produced.

Since its relaunch, the Schleppe brewery has been expanded into a center for brewing and distilling culture. This was followed by the redesign of the Schleppe area and the official opening of the “Schleppe Business Park” in 2003.

In the course of the redesign of the Schleppe brewery in 2000, the Schleppe event hall was integrated directly into the brewery.
