Silesian Christmas market
The Silesian Christkindelmarkt ( Silesian: Schläscher Christkindlmoarkt) is a Christmas market in the historical ambience of the Görlitz old town . The organizer is the Görlitzer Kulturservicegesellschaft. In addition to numerous food and drink stands, artisans also offer their products for 17 days on a market area of around 5000 square meters along the Brüderstraße and on the Untermarkt . The Christmas market is usually opened on a Friday afternoon by the Lord Mayor of Görlitz and the Christkindel on the stage on the north side of the Lower Market at the New Town Hall . Then the tunnel cut takes place. A Christmas program will be offered on the stage on the following days. The Christkindel visits the market every day at 4 p.m.

The Christmas market is open Monday to Thursday between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. It opens until 9 p.m. on Friday, as well as on Saturdays. On the weekend, the Christmas market opens its doors at 11 a.m. In 2018, the date of the Christmas market is set from November 30th to December 16th.
