Schloffer's tumor

The Schloffer tumor is a granulomatous connective tissue tumor caused by a chronic inflammatory reaction . The Schloffer tumor is named after the surgeon Hermann Schloffer (1868–1937).

Occur

The tumor can appear after inflammation of the appendix appendix on the abdominal wall. Mostly it is a so-called talc granuloma or a reaction to surgical sutures (suture granuloma) that occurs months or years after the operation.
