Born Castle
Born Castle is located in the center of Born in the municipality of Rosport-Mompach .
In the Middle Ages there was a rule in Born, a Heinrich von Born was appointed in 1286. The family had the previous building of today's castle built. It was destroyed in 1705 attacks by the Duke of Marlborough's army .
Today's castle was built by the Faust family from Aschaffenburg-Hattstein around 1740. In 1775 it was inherited by the De Villers family. In 1978 the municipality bought the castle and sold it again in 1985.
It is still privately owned and cannot be viewed.
