Kirchentellinsfurt Castle

The Kirchentellinsfurt Castle occupies a historic building in Kirchentellinsfurt (Baden-Württemberg).

history

Construction of the castle under Hans Jakob Widmann von Mühringen began around 1560, but it was not mentioned in writing for the first time until 1586 as the "castle". Peter Imhof received the castle and the castle goods after the village and castle were sold to Württemberg. In the second construction phase he erected the buildings that can still be seen today.

After Imhof's death, the castle was divided between his two sons. Both storeys, lengthways and crossways. The knight's hall belonged to both sons in equal parts. This led to quarrels, so that the heirs apparently no longer even wanted to use the same entrance. The rectangular window of the knight's hall used to be a door, and the inscription on it reads: 1727 TM for daughter man IFI for Jacob Friedrich Imhof. The building was finally sold to six citizens in 1777. From 1984 to 1988 the castle was renovated by the municipality.

museum

Since 1989 there has been a publicly accessible cultural history collection in the castle. It shows the collection and donation of Walter Tiedemann (* 1914; † 1989) and gives an insight into the history of the place. A “ militaria room” shows exhibits from the 19th and 20th centuries, and a lot from the area of bourgeois living and the arts and crafts is shown. Civil weddings are still held in the “wedding room” today. There is a fully equipped shoemaker's workshop as well as old typewriters, mousetraps, crucifixes, Bibles, butterflies and much more.
