Kittlitztreben Castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kittlitztreben Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Trzebieniu ) was a castle in today's Polish Trzebień (Kittlitztreben), which was destroyed in 1945 and now belongs to the rural community of Bolesławiec in the Bolesławiecki powiat in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

A first palace building was built in 1717 for the von Bibran family, with the core of a pre-existing building from the late Renaissance period being used. The castle was completed in 1608, as evidenced by a building board. In 1604 the von Bibran sold the property to Fabian von Zedlitz. Other owners in the first half of the 17th century were Caspar von Senden, Gottfried von Gersdorf and his heiress Dorothea von Schellendorf.

In 1642 a fire completely destroyed the castle. From 1717 Benjamin von Bibran zu Alt-Oels und Urbanstreben had the castle rebuilt with a single storey and a tower.

As a result of the transition of the region to the People's Republic of Poland , the castle was destroyed.
