Klein Tschirne Castle

Castle Klein Tschirne ( Polish Pałac w Czernej ) is a castle in Czerna (German Tschirne ) in the rural community Żukowice ( Herrndorf ) in the powiat Głogowski in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

history

The von Glaubitz had a seat in the place mentioned as Schyrnino since 1454 . Construction of today's castle began under Wolf von Glaubitz and was completed in 1559. In 1571 David von Stosch became the owner of the castle, which was renovated in 1721.

In 1830, Leopold Emil Freiherr von Buddenbrock became the owner, who had the south-east wing added and a park with a belt walk laid out. Theodor von Fritzsche was the owner until 1945.

As a result of the Second World War, Klein Tschirne fell to Poland together with Silesia in 1945. The facility was later used as a holiday home for a Gdańsk shipyard. From 1972 the castle was a branch of the Glogau Copper Museum. In 2004 the castle was renovated and now houses a guest house.

Building

The three-storey building is bordered to the north and south by a renaissance-era tail gable with pilaster strips and cornices. A tower with an octagonal tower leans against the west facade. A seat niche portal between the tower and a stand bay bears the building inscription "1558 Monday after Whitsun hot Wolf Glaubitz started the Baw". Above it is a coat of arms frieze and two gable triangles with a coat of arms. Inside, the wall-mounted equipment has been preserved, including state ovens and a historic kitchen area.
