Raduň Castle

The Raduň Castle (German Radun) is located in the Okres Opava in the Czech Republic .

The original medieval fortress was converted into a Renaissance castle by the Tvorkov family in 1586 . Johann Larisch-Mönnich had the now dilapidated property rebuilt in a classicist style from 1816–1822 according to designs by KJ Englisch. In 1832 the princely family Blücher von Wahlstatt acquired the castle through marriage and had the towers and gables on the west side of the castle restored.

After the end of the Second World War, the castle was nationalized by the Czechoslovak government. Since 1978 the castle has been restored and opened to the public.
