Rohnstock Castle
Rohnstock Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Roztoce ) is located in Roztoka (German: Rohnstock), which until 1945 belonged to the Jauer district .
history
Rohnstock Castle was owned by von Hochberg for four centuries , who had acquired the rule in 1497. From 1650, the Fürstenstein line of von Hochberg took over the ownership of Rohnstock Castle.
In 1720, Hans Heinrich III. von Hochberg convert the existing castle into a baroque castle and expand it. King Friedrich II was a guest at Rohnstock Castle after the victory in the Battle of Hohenfriedeberg . From 1870 the castle was rebuilt in the neo-renaissance style.
The castle remained intact during World War II and served as a holiday home and training center in the People's Republic of Poland , from which the region had been annexed. Since 1992 the castle has been in the possession of various private owners who have secured and restored the castle.
Castle and garden
The baroque palace was a four-wing complex on a square floor plan with a mighty tower in the south wing. The baroque structure of the garden, which was preserved until the 20th century, is remarkable. Today's picture is characterized by the neo-renaissance style, with colossal pilasters, triangular gables, two-storey dwelling houses, and decorative chimneys above the mansard roof.
