Castle and Castle Park

Széchenyi Castle in Nagycenk was built from 1741 in the late Baroque and Classicist style and was István Széchenyi's home . He had it modernized from 1834 to 1840 by the Ödenburg master builder Ferdinand Hild . After severe destruction at the end of the Second World War, only the classicist staircase remained of the original interior design. The main gate from the years 1741 to 1750 comes from Franz Anton Pilgram . After the reconstruction (1969–1973), however, part of the building complex was used as a museum dedicated to the great reformer, the rest as a castle hotel and restaurant.
