Weildegg Castle , also called Waldegg, is in the village of Würmlach in the municipality of Kötschach-Mauthen .

The town councilor and merchant Hieronymus Weyland the Elder from Villach converted an estate into a Renaissance castle in Würmlach in 1537 . Today the property belongs to the Aichwalder family, who rent out holiday apartments in the castle and occasionally make the building available for cultural events.

The castle is a fortress-like, three- to four-storey, square building with four circular corner towers and a tent roof. The attic floor is broken through by shooting windows, on the east side there is a machicolation above the entrance . Windows and doors are framed by sgraffito bottles. The two biforic windows above the east and west entrance gate belong to a large hall with painted coats of arms of the Kulmer and Gängel-Ehrenwert families from 1648.
