Schmöllner drum pigeon
The Schmöllner drum pigeon is a domestic pigeon breed and is one of the drum pigeons .
Pattern description
- Origin: Saxony and Thuringia , located in the Schmölln and Altenburg area .
- Overall impression: Strong, long, moderately raised pigeon with an almost horizontal posture, forked tail, behaved, smooth-headed, very good drum voice.

Breed characteristics:
- Head: Well rounded, high forehead, smooth
- Eyes: pearl colored; Narrow edge, light to dark depending on the color of the plumage.
- Bill: Medium length , light to dark depending on the color of the plumage; Warts little developed, smooth.
- Neck: Medium length, protruding fully from the body, throat rounded.
- Chest: Broad and protruding.
- Back: Broad, long, slightly sloping.
- Wings: Strong, broad, with long wings, well covering the back.
- Tail: Consists of at least 14 long and broad feathers, divided in the middle by a fork. Price gland missing.
- Legs: Medium length, running legs feathered (behaved), toes bare.
- Plumage: Broad, taut, long.
- Colors: white, black, red, yellow, blue with or without black bands, blue with white bands, blue-steel with or without dark-colored bands, red-pale, pea-yellow (yellow-pale), light-blue with white bands, blue-hammered, blue-steel-hammered, red-pale-hammered , Yellow-pale-hammered, gored, muscled in black, mackerel and piebald in black, blue, red and yellow.
