Willi Bendel (born April 8, 1942 - June 18, 2020 ) was a German bodybuilder .

Life

In November 1979, Willi Bendel opened a fitness studio together with his wife Vera in the Steinheim district of Hanau . The studio has been run by the couple to this day. Ralf Moeller , Ronny Rockel and Kurt Felix trained at the Bendel fitness studio . In spring 2012, on his 70th birthday, Willi Bendel announced the sale of the fitness studio.

Willi Bendel won the first German championships in couple posing with his wife Vera. These championships were hosted by Harry Gelbfarb in 1981 .

In the 1990s and 2000s, Willi Bendel started very successfully in various senior bodybuilding classes ("over 50" and "over 60"). Here Bendel became both world champion and Mister Universum ( NABBA / WFF ).

Willi Bendel started his long bodybuilding career in around 200 competitions. Until the end of his life he trains several times a week with weights up to 300 kg.
