Ronny Rockel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ronny Rockel (born July 12, 1972 in Schlema ) is a German professional bodybuilder.

Life

Rockel grew up in the GDR. He was inspired in 1989 by the film series Rocky with Sylvester Stallone and began to train with a body weight of 65 kg. There were n't any fitness studios in his place of residence, Chemnitz , so he built his first weights from cogwheels and iron bars himself.

After the first gym opened, Rockel became a member and learned about nutrition, training and diet. At the Hessian championship in 1994, his first competition, he finished last. A year later he won the NABBA German Championship and was third in the NABBA -Mr.-Universe Championship. After that, Rockel decided to become a professional bodybuilder. He finally did this by winning the International German Championship in 2002 and the associated Procard. Rockel is still one of the most successful German bodybuilders next to Markus Rühl , Günter Schlierkamp and Dennis Wolf .

Rockel was sponsored by the supplement company Best Body Nutrition from 2009 to July 1, 2011. In June 2011, the contract was surprisingly terminated. Since then he has been under contract with Weider Global Nutrition.

After participating in the IFBB Kuwait Pro 2017 on October 6, 2017, Rockel ended his active bodybuilding career. In April 2018, however, he announced his comeback at the Frey Classic, an amateur NAC competition, which he finished with 2nd place behind Peter Molnar. However, he did not lose his IFBB Pro Card by starting the amateur competition.
