Narrowest house in Fürstenwalde / Spree

The narrowest house in Fürstenwalde / Spree is at Tuchmacherstraße 12. The street name indicates that craftsmen and cloth makers lived here in the Middle Ages .

description

The narrow two-story house is 3.83 meters wide, dates from the 17th century and is one of the few remaining houses in the old town. 80 percent of the houses in the center were destroyed at the end of the Second World War. In 1996 the house was renovated and sill joists were found in the floor, which could be dated to 1662. The basement of the house seems to be much older.
