bargain

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bargains ( diminutive ) are exceptionally cheap and may be products or services offered for a limited time .

People who specifically look for it are called bargain hunters . “Bargain” is actually an assessment from the point of view of the beneficiaries and not the ones who have been overreached. Often sellers themselves advertise their goods as “bargains”, although according to a strict definition of the word they imply that they are “easy to cheat” themselves. The definition also implies that it is about the purchase of a single product. In fact, sellers use the word bargain as a synonym for special offer .

Word origin

The term bargain is used colloquially. The word origin is not proven. However, it is assumed that you “grab” a product or service before someone else does or before the price is raised again. If you did this with success, then you speak in the sense of: "I got a bargain".

Manifestations

The term “bargain” is also used to advertise the sale of remaining stock, second-choice goods, slacks and discontinued models, clearance sales or final sales at the end of the season.

“Bargains” are often used strategically for advertising as part of the so-called shortage strategy , which is supposed to bring about a quick purchase decision by pretending to limit the number of items. In addition, goods that are cheaply produced and of inferior quality are purchased. This strategy can be successful because there are often actually significant quantities of the product present and being discontinued. Additional other products may be sold to customers willing to buy. Or the “bargain hunter” decides on a replacement product.
