Liquor thrush

Schnapps thrush is a joking name for a schnapps drinker or alcoholic . A person who reveals suspects or perpetrators for a few schnapps is also known as a schnapps thrush.

The term was probably formed in the late 19th century. Schnaps originated in the 18th century from the Low German word for "sip". With throttle the songbird is not throttle meant but the throat , the earlier choke a common word was (obtained in choke ). Another, probably false declaration pursuant to the name of the term Fieldfare be imitated.

A comparable term with the same meaning is Schluckspecht .
