Quick package
Since July 1, 1951, there have been express parcels or express mail as a new type of dispatch for parcels, initially on an experimental basis, in the area of the FRG and in traffic with West Berlin .

At the request of the sender ordinary were packages unsealed value packages , mail pieces and unsealed value mail by locations in Germany as well as to the western sectors of Greater Berlin carried as express parcels, namely ordinary packages and unsealed value packages as express parcels , mail pieces and unsealed value mail items as Post Quick goods . Other services such as cash on delivery, return receipt (except for express mail) and express delivery were permitted, bulky parcels only if they contained live animals, hatching eggs, living plants or bushes. There was compulsory franking (repealed January 1, 1952). By specifying the telephone number - framed in blue - in the label, the sender could determine that the recipient would be notified of the entrance at the destination free of charge by telephone. The posting was certified free of charge upon request. Quick packages beizugebende package or Postgutkarten (approved since January 1, 1952-3 Quick packages on a package card and up to 10 Post Quick goods to a Postgutkarte) had to - as well as the program itself - the strikingly underlined note Quick package or Postschnellgut carry. In addition to the usual fee, a surcharge of 40, 50, 60, 70 or 80 Pfg . raised. This surcharge varied until the end of the Deutsche Bundespost.

To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the introduction of express parcels, the toy company Wiking released a set of toy cars entitled 50 years express parcel of the Deutsche Bundespost under the special edition Highlights of Postal History .
