Schott el Hodna

The Schott el Hodna is a salt lake ( Schott ) in the interior of Algeria . It lies between the Tell Atlas in the north and the Sahara Atlas in the south and is the most easterly and, at approx. 371 m, the deepest bulkhead in the Schotts highlands . It stretches for about 80 km by 16 km.

The Schott el Hodna is an ecologically important wetland.

Archaeological evidence suggests settlement in Roman times.
