Scotch eggs (scotch eggs) are a snack -Spezialität from the British cuisine . They consist of hard-boiled eggs ; these are coated with sausage meat , breaded with breadcrumbs and then fried . The result is apple-sized, orange-brown balls. Scottish eggs are commonly found on refrigerated shelves in UK supermarkets ; they usually get cold, e.g. B. at picnics , and can be eaten out of hand. Scotch eggs were first made in London in 1738 by Fortnum & Mason .
