Slope

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term slope is used in the planning and construction of roads. It describes the maximum incline of a traffic area , usually a roadway . When it rains, the water flows off parallel to the direction of the incline. The direction of the slope is perpendicular to the contour lines .

The oblique inclination is calculated from the mutually perpendicular longitudinal and transverse inclinations of a road surface (road surface). The guideline for the construction of roads, part: Drainage ( RAS-Ew ) specifies the following formula for the calculation:

p - slope
q - cross slope
s - pitch
