Bevel cut

Bevel cut

With an oblique or diagonal cut , a fabric is cut at a 45 ° angle to the weaving direction. Two cutting directions are possible, which are perpendicular to each other. Fabric is more elastic in the direction of the diagonals , so an oblique cut promotes elasticity and the easy fall of a garment.

The Parisian fashion designer Madeleine Vionnet was particularly known for the fact that she often used the bevel cut in her creations.
