Receipt of documents

The written receipt or branch ID is the name of the confirmation of registration in Switzerland. It is an official document about the deposit of the home registration at the residents' registration office of the municipality of residence.

When a Swiss citizen comes of age or settles in a municipality in which he is not a citizen, he must register with the municipality of residence within the statutory period. In the event of a move, the certificate of origin will only be issued upon return of the registration confirmation.
