Certificate of origin of the municipality of Zollikofen in the canton of Bern , 1918

The certificate of origin is the Swiss citizen 's passport in Switzerland. Its content is evidenced by the home ID .

use

The registry office of the home community ( Heimatort ) keeps a register of community citizens and issues home certificates to private individuals. Every person who settles in a community must submit their home registration to the residents' registration office. The municipality confirms the deposit with a confirmation of registration .

The certificate of origin is valid indefinitely, unless the personal details of the (certificate of origin) holder change. The following information can be seen on the certificate of origin: surname, first name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, father, mother, place of origin and marital status.

Homeland ID

People who temporarily live in a different municipality than their municipality of residence, e.g. B. Weekly residents must notify their municipality of residence. To do this, they register at their residents' registration office and hand in a home ID card issued for this purpose. The home ID cards are issued by the residents' registration office in the municipality where the home ID card is deposited.

The identity card states : the address to which it is valid, surname, first name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, father, mother, place of origin, marital status , denomination and occupation, date of issue and expiry date.

In French-speaking Switzerland , the home ID is called “acte d'origine”.

Some municipalities charge a fee of up to 140 francs for issuing the home identity card.

Other countries

In Austria there was a certificate of origin until the annexation of Austria in March 1938 (→ Austrian citizenship # legal historical development ).
