Life

He was the fourth regent of the Third Dynasty of Ur and succeeded his brother Amar-Sin to the throne after his untimely death. During his reign it is known that danger threatened the western frontier of the empire and that he himself boasted that he had "devastated seven countries" in Iraq . His successor was his son Ibbi-Sin , the last great king from the Third Dynasty of Ur .

Several cuneiform texts with poems that are addressed to Šu-Sin have come down to us, possibly in connection with the ritual of the Holy Wedding . The best known is the text described as a woman's love song on Schusuena by Ur III .
