The Transporter Bridge Bordeaux was never gone into operation transporter bridge over the Garonne at Bordeaux was started with the construction on 19 September 1910th The construction of the transporter bridge was interrupted in 1914 during the First World War. At this point in time, the two 96-meter-high support towers were completed while the vehicle was still missing. The construction work was not resumed. The project was finally abandoned in 1938 and the supporting towers were blown up by the Wehrmacht on August 18, 1942 . Today the former tower foundations are still there.
