Swedish Choir Association

The Swedish Choir Association ( Sveriges Körförbund ) is the umbrella organization of choirs in Sweden .

The association was founded in 1925 and for a long time only brought together the mixed choirs of Sweden. In 1997 the association merged with the Swedish Singers Association ( Svenska Sångarförbundet ), which had previously operated as the umbrella organization for Swedish male choirs from 1909, and has since become one of the largest amateur music associations in Northern Europe with over 18,000 singers in around 500 member choirs.

The choir association is a member of the  Nordic Singers Association and Europa Cantat .
