exhibition

Using an interactive and multimedia concept, the exhibition bridges the gap between economic history and modern innovations in the financial industry. Securities relevant to economic history document the development of the financial sector from the 16th to the 21st century. On display are shares in companies from the age of industrialization, securities of art historical value and an earlier share in the Dutch East India Company (VOC), the world's first public limited company. The focus is on the Swiss stock exchange before and after the abolition of ring trading, the capital market, financial instruments, payment transactions and technical products of the financial industry.

Radio plays, interactive film sequences and touchscreen animations provide information on key players, processes and developments in the Swiss financial center. The LiveX trading software, which stock exchange traders use to prepare for admission to the Swiss stock exchange, is now publicly available as a game. Touchscreen infographics show how national and global political events have influenced the development of the SMI since its launch in 1988, interviews with personalities close to the stock exchange give an outlook on the near future of the stock exchange.
