Gianluca Mager (born December 1, 1994 in Sanremo ) is an Italian tennis player .

Career

Gianluca Mager mainly plays tournaments on the third and second rate Future and Challenger Tour. So far he has won four singles and one double title on the Future Tour. On the Challenger Tour, he never made it past the quarterfinals in singles or doubles.

He made his debut on the ATP World Tour in 2017 at the Masters tournament in Rome . He received a wild card for the individual competition, where he met Aljaž Bedene in the first round . After winning the first set in the tie-break , he had to retire in the third set due to cramps due to injury. In September 2016 he made it into the top 300 in the world rankings with 290th place .

He won his first title on the Challenger Tour in January 2019 in Koblenz when he defeated the Spaniard Roberto Ortega Olmedo in three sets in the final.
