Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors

The Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors (GDK for short) is an annual meeting of the 26 health directors of all Swiss cantons and six selected guest participants since 1919 .

The aim of the GDK is to ensure cooperation and exchange between the individual cantons and the Confederation and thus to bring together and organize the generally federally structured health system in Switzerland at a federal level.

Fields of activity

The fields of activity of the conferences include current topics in health policy, such as the ongoing adaptation of the Health Insurance Act (KVG), top-class medicine, drug policy, or the training and recognition of non-medical professions.
