Swiss Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swiss Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired SBV sees itself as a national organization in which blind and visually impaired people come together for self-help, self-determination and lobbying. Since 1911, the association has been supporting affected people in their endeavors to lead an independent and successful life in their private lives, in society and at work. The SBV achieves these goals with advice, training and the promotion of innovative technologies as well as education and awareness-raising among the public.

The services range from social counseling, specialist advice and job coaching to courses and leisure activities. All information is made available to members in printed, digital and auditory form.

The SBV makes the concerns of blind and visually impaired people known to a broad public and campaigns for their rights.
