Float needle valve

The float needle valve is a component of carburetors in gasoline engines . It is operated by the carburetor float . The level in the float chamber of the carburetor raises or lowers the needle in the needle valve. This releases or closes the flow into the float chamber of the carburetor.

A weak point is that if the valve jams, depending on the position, the carburetor can overflow or be cut off from the fuel supply.

In addition, a fluctuating level of the fuel in front of the carburetor can influence the mixture composition, since the static pressure is different between the levels, more or less fuel flows through the nozzle.
