Vibration analysis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vibration analysis or vibration analysis is a method of examining rotating parts for defects such as imbalances or defective bearings.

Vibration analysis is an element of predictive maintenance .

With the vibration analysis, the vibrations of rotating parts (e.g. rollers) are recorded and analyzed.

Based on the vibration patterns and the vibration amplitudes, conclusions can be drawn about the condition of the rotating parts and the bearings. This allows necessary repairs to be identified in advance and carried out before the machine fails. This means that downtimes can be reduced or shifted to non-production times.
