The Hengstberg is located in the Salzkammergut Mountains , more precisely in the municipality of Elsbethen , a southern suburb of the city of Salzburg . With a height of 778 m , the centrally located mountain is the lowest mountain in the municipality. The Hengstberg is located south of the Glasenbachklamm and is a frequently hiked area, as the summit is on the hiking trail between Glasenbach and the Erentrudisalm. The Erentrudisalm will be renovated until spring 2019. They have been looking for a tenant for a year and a half (as of October 2018) because from an economic point of view it was no longer possible to manage them.
